Lakota Friends Circle supplies non-perishable foods and funds to purchase kitchen staples. Poor nutrition is a huge problem on the reservation. Local grocery stores are sparse and expensive. However, the closest Walmart is in Rapid City, 90 miles away. Funds for gas and unreliable vehicles make it difficult to shop there.

Smaller shelters, such as the Veteran’s Homeless Shelter are supplied with smaller packaging. When supplying large shelters and community pantries, we are able to purchase foods in bulk for a lower cost. Those supplies are then trucked to their destinations, as seen in the photo below.

A monthly donation is a convenient and easy way to help us halt hunger in Pine Ridge.
