In honor of a decade of service, Lakota Friends Circle is launching a heartfelt initiative this spring – a fundraiser for a project close to our hearts, Maggie’s House, dedicated to supporting youth aged 16-22.
It’s a challenging period for these youngsters, with many facing homelessness, substance abuse, early parenthood, and tragically, a high suicide rate amongst Native American youth.
Our goal is to refurbish a property specifically designed to cater to this age group, aiming to foster independent living and productive life skills among Lakota young adults. Upon completion, services like transitional housing, education assessments, substance abuse support, legal aid, and health services, including vision and dental, will be offered. In addition, the staff will provide enriching classes such as American Indian Life Skills, Driver’s License Prep, Relationship Skill Building, Lakota Culture, local and native developed curriculums, Parenting, and Mentoring.
Your support can make a world of difference. We invite you to join us in showing these youth that they matter, that we care. Donate here or click the button below. Checks can be mailed to:

We need to raise $12,800 to repair the inside and outside of the house as well as add a fence. Check out lakotafriendscircle.org for more information on the costs.
We are thrilled to collaborate with Reservation Outreach, a non-profit capable of carrying out the required repairs. Please note that Reservation Outreach will be working at Maggie’s House from July 20-July 27th should you be interested in joining, reply to this email and we will connect you to the right person.
